One of my co-workers claims that an expensive pair of sunglasses went missing from his desk on Friday afternoon. There were only two other employees in the store that day who spent time in that office, although it is possible that a customer or two or three others associated with the store walked by the door to the office.
The owner of the glasses is accusing the two other people (one of whom is me) of taking the glasses, and has asked me repeatedly, calling me on my cell several times, if I’m “sure” I didn’t take them. I’ve spent about three hours discussing and looking for the glasses with him and am completely fed up with his accusations and behavior, which is starting to damage our relationship and I told him so.
I have my own concerns about this theft, as I sometimes have my purse, digital camera or other personal effects in that office that I don’t want to lose to theft…
I’m still holding onto hope he’ll find the things at home and apologize for his behavior, but it’s been a couple days now and it doesn’t look like that’s the case.
Suggestions on how to deal with this would be helpful and welcome.

Since you are not the thief, I would advise the gentleman to write up an incident report and or report the theft to the police.
